A cooling system works by sending a liquid coolant through passages in the engine block and heads. As the coolant flows through these passages, it picks up heat from the engine.

The thermostat opens its valve only if the #coolant liquid reached a high temperature . When it opened the hot water flows to the #radiator where it exchanges heat with the cold air from outside driven by the radiator #fan , then the cold water get back to the #engine .
